Hello and welcome to another “state-of-the-union” type post, this time about the current events that happen in Romania’s Government, since a lot of speculation is done, and the news station here arent really neutral if you get my meaning.

The current political parties in Romania that are represented in the Parliament, which is formed from Senate and The Commons (Deputy room) and their percentage are as follows, based on the last parliamentary elections in Autumn 2008,

• PSD: The Social Democrats allied with the Conservator Party got 36.0% in the Commons and 35.7% in the Senate
• PDL: The Democrat-Liberals got 30.8% in the Commons and 31.7% in the Senate
• PNL: The National-Liberals got 20,4% in the Commons and 19.8% in the Senate
• PRM: The Nationalist Party (highly unpopular due to party leaders) got 3.1% in the Commons and 3.4% in the Senate
• UDMR : The Hungarian-Minority party (represented mostly in 2-3 cities in Transilvania region) got 6.7% in the Commons and 6.7% In the Senate
• PNG : The Rightwing-religious party lead by a multimillionaire in $ got 2.1% in the Commons and 2.1% in the Senate (because of this they didnt get any seats in both chambers, too low %)

First off, let’s start with the time-line

• In 2008 on 30th of November the exit polls show the above results and the competition is finally over
• In 2008 on 21th of December the partnership between Social Democrats and Democrat Liberals, pass the government lead by Emil Boc, with the highest majority recorded after the revolution in 1989, about 70%ish percent
• In 2009, Late September -> Start of October, the Social Democrats left the Government after their Intern Minister gets ousted due to poor performance, so the Social Democrats end up in the opposition, along with the National Liberals and the Hungarians (so a opposition that has over 65% of the parliament, yep), the seats that the Social Democrats left empty, got allocated to the remaining Democrat Liberals, so each minister has it’s own seat plus helds the internship for another ministry left empty
• In 2009, 13th of October, the alliance formed by the everyone except the Democrat-Liberals oust the entire government from power in a vote of no-confidence in the senate
• In 2009, 15th of October, the president, Traian Basescu, against the majority’s opinion names the next candidate for Prime-Minister in the person of Lucian Croitoru, heck he even misspelled his name while he made the announcement, he called him Lucian Cojocaru (yes that was on national television in the inaugural speeches)
• 2009, 4th of November, the parliament rejects Lucian Croiturul as prime-minister and everyone gets back to the negotiation table
• 2009, 6th of November, again the president rejects the majorities opinion and names Liviu Negoita as prime minster, and again he does a big blunder, he says he’s the mayor of the sector 4 in bucharest while he is actually the mayor of sector 3.

So there you have it, the timeline, where does this leave us, well, first off, due to the financial crysis, the government borrowed itself from the IMF, and they said that they will send the money when we actually have a working government, so we have to borrow from the local banks and a much higher interest-rate

During this period we had a shitload of strikes, Public Service workers were on the streets, then Justice had a huge strike for over 1month, then the farmers blocked Bucharest, almost every week there was a demonstration planned

And now against all odds, the president instead of naming a candidate that is supported by the new majority names who he wants, and the best part is that nothing, and i mean nothing can be done about it, the Constitution says that in the last 6 months of a presidential mandate he cannot dismiss the parliament and make another parliamentary election, so no matter how many governments fail now, it doesnt matter, and the best part is that the current party which forms the government even if it has limited power is formed by his own party members, the democrat liberals from which he is a member of. and the even nicer part is that no matter who comes out of the presidential election scheduled for November 22nd, another 2 governments have to fall in order for the new president to oust the parliament and organize another set of elections.

Got to love how stuff goes in Romania

We all know that credit crisis means lower salaries for everyone… right? WRONG. In this following blogpost i am going to tell why IT salaries will still go up, and why demand wont be impacted by the economic crisis.

Rule Nr 1: If you dont have a website and you sell a product, you’re nobody. So you need a website, but for it, you need hosting, design, coding, maintenance, and someone who will update it. thus IT stuff

Rule Nr 2: Most websites are old, made with Front-page and the like, those need to be updated back to 21st standards, this means work for IT persons

Rule nr 3: The internet is the BIG thing now, like it or not, you need to have a comprehensive reach to all your potential customers, this means at least a website. If you want to do big things or are a medium to large enterprise you need or you should need some social media interaction, like a twitter account, facebook account, digg account, mostly everything you need to be able to see WHAT others are talking about you behind “your back” so to speak

Rule nr 4: Advertising in the classical media ( TV / Newspapers / etc) is very very expensive, and most often than not, it does not target your population segmant/interest. Instead of wasting money on that, why not build a dedicated advertising franchise on the web at a fraction of the cost and more more targeted towards your own company product/service.

Rule nr 5: Even after you build a website, social media accounts, etc, those need to be updated/modified/changed. This means you need someone to do it, if you cant do it yourself Or it’s cheaper to just hire someone to do it. Remember you may pay someone 15-20$/hour to do something but if you make 50$ per hour, it’s just natural to hire someone instead of you wasting time, however most people are either greedy or stupid and prefer to work longer days / weekends, which is a mistake. If you run a company, it’s more important to have new ideas / business strategies / etc than thinking “Damn, another long weekend, all my friends are out with thier families and i am sitting here doing X thing

And Finally Rule nr 6: We all know outsourcing to India/Pakistan/China/etc is the new future, however please note that there are language barriers, and most importantly from what i personally know from my clients, all the work done by pakistani/indian/chinese coders is way way sub par. so think about this, instead of having to pay someone 5$/hour to do a job, and then having to pay another one 10-15$ to fix the job (mostly they will say, it needs to be redone since it’s that CRAP), then you better pay 10-15$ from the first. Time is also important, you waste time at first, and then you waste time hiring the 2nd coder, if you’re company needs something done YESTERDAY, then this will mean that your company will suffer and you lose money either way. So think about this

We all noticed, well more like we all got pummeled with, the current financial crisis. People say it’s worse than the one in the 30s, doom and gloom, economy is dead, we’re all heading to 2012 and we’re all going to die because of swine-flu. Bla bla bla yada yada yada

We all heard these pieces of information, however most are flawed, for ex:

The Crisis is worse than the one in the 30s

• USA GDP in the 30s took a 35% drop, and only recovered due to the WW2
• USA GDP in 2008 – 2009 only took a 5-10% drop

Swine-Flu infects millions of people, we need to be vaccinated:

First off some facts: Regular flu (yeah the one we all get) kills about 750 people a DAY worldwide, yes that SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY PEOPLE A DAY, nice eh? this means that each year 273750 people die of the regular flu. Swine flu on the other hand, in about 4months only killed about 150 people worldwide, and most of them in Mexico

Also now swine flu in level 6 WHO pandemic level, aka we’re all gonna die, and we need vaccines, no we dont we stupid fool, what is a vaccine first off, it’s a cocktail of chemicals and WEAKEND viruses and that vaccine contains a substance that bypasses our first defense line and anothero ne which makes our second defense line (the anti-bodies) react more powerful to the virus than it really is, so we fuck up our immune system. Also these guys, the brainiacs at the biggest Pharma labs in the world, couldnt make a vaccine for the regular flu for over 30 years, how come they can make a vaccine for the swine flu in less a year? Also remember what happened in the 70s when the swine flu hit USA? around 100 people died, and 1000 people died from vaccinations. Nice eh? but however since Big Pharma has a lot of money to gain from the panic spreading, just grab the shot. A small bit of information, did you notice that the Pharma companies that said that they will produce a vaccine, had their stocks soared with a 100%-500% increase? i wonder why…

Also in another news we have the entire world wishing to dumb the US dolar as their main reserve currency, China especially has about 1 trillion or so USD bonds and they dont know what to do with them. Russia already has more than 50% of their reserves in other currencies other than the dolar, the rest are following suit. My advice if you have $US, sell now when their at least worth anything.

From the Geopolitical point of view, of MY COUNTRY is better then yours, China, had it’s GDP rise almost 8% in 2008 while other countries had a -1/-2% drop. My advice better learn Chinese soon, since thats where the world will be. If you still think that Amerika is going to do anything, you are mistaken

Also, i would like to point out that the US is not producing much if anything at all, everything is produced in China/India and shipped over, customer support is outsourced to India, basically all that you guys produce is fast-food, bonds/stock/wall-shit stuff and let’s not forget wars.

America has currently almost 3 wars active, Iraq, Afganistan, and Pakistan. Now, they are the most indebted nation on the planet however they still have the finances to wage wars, well, they do have a 700-800 billion dolars army budged (without including the maintanence of the wars, which is another 80-100 billion). Wars never solved any issues, but people dont learn from history, well if they mess with China or Russia, i am 200% certain that nukes will fly, and no matter where the nukes hit, the radioactive clouds just spin around the planent, so even if you have your ultra-mega-special-state-of-the-art satellite platform that can intercept all the nukes coming to you, it wont matter, since the nukes will hit the other guy -> radioactive cloud -> end of humanity as we know it, oh well, we have another 3-4 billion years to try again since the earth becomes uninhabitable.

In other news OIL prices rose to 70$ a barrel, and the rich OPEC nations say that “THIS IS TOO LITTLE WE NEED MORE”, This + the devaluation of the US dolar + coupled with the fact that China needs more and more oil for it’s internal economy will mean that the price of the OIL will soon reach 100-150$ a barrel (that is if it will still be traded in US dolars).
